Reuben Reid has vowed to re-ignite his career at Walsall after signing on loan from Albion.

The forward insisted he will take the Saddlers to the next level and help them challenge for promotion ahead of his planned debut against Plymouth tomorrow.

Reid will stay with the Saddlers until January and is keen to prove his worth after a frustrating season with Albion, which saw him farmed out on loan to Peterborough in 2009-10.

He said: "It was a bit stop-start for me last year, but now I have the chance to make an impact.

"I've not played a lot of football this year, so I want to work hard and push for a shirt.

"I have pace, the ability to create chances and generally be a threat to the opposition."

Reid could make his debut against Plymouth tomorrow - the club where he started his career - and warns the Pilgrims are a danger as the Saddlers bid for their first home win of the campaign.

He said: "It's going to be interesting. Obviously I am keen to be involved, but know that it's going to be a tough game."

Reid joins Jonathan Macken at Walsall, after the one-tkme £5million Manchester City signing penned a one-year deal with the option of a further year last night.

The striker had spent the last week on trial with the club.
