Blues withdraw Charles N'Zogbia bid

Birmingham's interest in Wigan's Charles N'Zogbia looks over after they withdrew an improved offer for the winger.

Boss Alex McLeish had targeted the Frenchman and is believed to have had an £8million offer rejected by the Latics last month.

Interest looked to have cooled - with Blues refusing to match Wigan's £15m asking price - but they had reportedly gone back in with a second offer which was withdrawn this morning.

McLeish is also chasing Palermo striker Fabrizio Miccoli and is understood to have had a £4million bid rejected by the Italian club.

But the pint-sized hitman is set to sit down with officials at the Stadio Renzo Barbera to try to force a switch to England.
