Walsall to host Villa in pre-season

Walsall have confirmed they will host Villa in pre-season as the Saddlers finalise their summer plans.

They welcome their Premier League opponents on Tuesday July 27 (7:45pm) meaning the trip to Crewe, penned in for the same date, has been cancelled.

It will be Villa's final game before they play Benfica and Feyenoord in the Guadiana Cup in Portugal, which starts on July 30.

Chris Hutchings' men also host Wolves on July 20 and Coventry on July 24.

They then travel to Port Vale on July 31 – the final Saturday before the League One season kicks-off on August 7.
