Kris Boyd today rejected reports he is set to sign for Birmingham and claims he will not make a decision on his future until the end of the season.

The Rangers striker was said to have agreed a £1m-a-year contract with Blues last night but has moved to pour cold water on the rumour.

Blues boss Alex McLeish confirmed he had spoken to Boyd two weeks ago but the striker, the Scottish Premier League's record scorer, says news he has signed at St Andrew's is premature.

"Right now I'm only thinking about Rangers," he said.

"There is obviously going to be some speculation about my future but as things stand I have made no decision. I have put everything to the back of my mind until the end of the season.

"At the moment I am 100 per cent focused on Rangers and 100 per cent committed to Rangers."

He is a long-term target of McLeish, who managed him at Rangers, and Boyd rejected a £3.5m move to St Andrew's last year. The 26-year-old is expected to leave Ibrox at the end of his deal in June after failing to accept a new contract offered to him.

But Boyd insists he wants to address his slump in form which has seen him stuck on 99 SPL goals for Rangers for five games.

"I haven't been pleased with my form since I returned from injury so that's all I'm concentrating on," he added.

"We have big games coming up and that's all I'm thinking about – nothing else."

Meanwhile, Blues' hopes of keeping Joe Hart next season have been dashed after Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini admitted he wants to keep the stopper at Eastlands.

Hart, on a season long loan at St Andrew's, has impressed this season and looks set to win a place in England's World Cup squad this summer.

McLeish had been keen to extend the deal but Mancini sees Hart's future in Manchester.

He said: "Joe Hart is a good goalkeeper, who next year could be an important goalkeeper for England and Manchester City. He is only young and probably he will stay with us. But it is not an important issue just now.

"We must concentrate on our games and stick with what is happening this season."
