Walsall home game called off
Walsall's League One match against Charlton has been called off after a noon pitch inspection at the Banks's Stadium.

It was not for lack of effort - ground staff had been working since 5am on the playing surface in an attempt to get the game passed.
The referee first inspected the pitch at 10am and seemed happy enough for the match to go ahead, assuming that frozen areas of the ground had thawed by the time of the second assessment.
But heavy frost overnight proved the victor in the second game in successive weeks to fall foul of the weather in the Saddlers' schedule, after the Boxing Day trip to Bristol Rovers was postponed.
