Boss warns against complacency
Walsall boss Chris Hutchings has warned his side against complacency as the Saddlers gear up to face struggling Stockport at the Banks's Stadium.
The Hatters will arrive tomorrow in League One's bottom four having won just three games all season.
But they beat Tooting and Mitcham 5-0 in the FA Cup last week and Hutchings has ordered his men to be on their guard.
He said: "They scored five goals and kept a clean sheet. It doesn't matter who you play against, that's very important.
"I watched their game against Tranmere, where they played excellently and thoroughly deserved to win. It was 1-0 but they could have won by a couple more.
"They played a 4-1-4-1 system and basically controlled most of the game. So we know that it is going to be difficult.
"Gary Ablett has gone in there as manager and steadied the ship during a difficult transitional period with new owners going in. But he's doing a good job and it will be no easy task.
"I was very impressed with them against Tranmere, so I know what they can do. Like a lot of teams in this league - like ourselves at times - they can play very well and be up there but at another time can be very poor.
"The other week at Wycombe we were poor in the first-half, but played exceptionally well in the second-half to come back and win 3-2.
"So in adversity we know that we can come back and we can change things round if we have to."
Hutchings is pleased to see former Liverpool defender Ablett handed a chance in management, after learning his trade as a coach at Anfield.
The Walsall boss said: "I know him. I met him at different coaching seminars. We wish him all the best – after tomorrow."
