The highly-rated hitman hasn't scored this season and his pairing with Parkin has come under scrutiny by fans as the team struggle for goals.

But Deeney believes he and former Luton striker Parkin can work.

The 21-year-old said: "We're learning on the job, sometimes I'll run left when he wants me to go right and vice versa.

"But we've had five games together, so we're not really going to be setting the world alight after five games. Judge us after 10."
