The versatile attacker is primed for tonight's Carling Cup trip to Accrington Stanley, after an encouraging debut in the 1-0 win at Brighton on Saturday.

Jones has had a painful summer of personal and professional heartache. His wife Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer, just weeks before he was released by Burnley.

He said: "I can play left and right wing or as a striker. I have got plenty of pace so I can score goals and provide goals.

"I've been blessed in that department, so hopefully I can get Troy and Sam some more goals. I'm a young 32.

"I've got a lot of experience, I've played most of my career in the Championship and played internationally as well, so I'll be looking to talk to the lads and pass on some ideas."
