Ferguson's on the brink

Barry Ferguson moved a step closer to his £1m move to Birmingham after passing his medical today.

The Rangers midfielder, who was also linked with Albion earlier in the summer, is set to sign on at St Andrew's in the next 24 hours.

It will be a reunion for Ferguson and Blues boss Alex McLeish, whom the Scots star played for at Ibrox and on the international stage.

The fee is an initial £1m but will also net the Gers an additional £250,000 through add-ons.
