Villa are to issue 40,000 free scarves to fans as part of their weekend to celebrate the 25th anniversary of winning the European Cup. The scarves, featuring a new club crest which includes a gold star to commemorate the historic 1982 feat, will be handed to fans attending the final home game of the season against Sheffield United on May 5. The club are doing everything possible to celebrate the squad who brought Villa their finest moment in May 1982, when Peter Withe scored the only goal of the game to beat Bayern Munich in Rotterdam. Villa have already announced a weekend of celebration to include a fans' night with the 1982 squad in the Holte Suite on the Friday, and a parade of the players at the Sheffield United game.
