Ozzy Osbourne’s memory lives with Ozzfest and the heavy metal festival is set to return with some big names likely to be on the bill

A vital part of Ozzy Osbourne’s legend and legacy is returning with the announcement that Ozzfest will be back next year with shows in the UK, the USA and Mexico.

The heavy metal festival was founded by Ozzy and wife Sharon and the first event took place in 1996 and featured rock luminaries such as Sepultura and Slayer with Ozzy headlining, naturally.

The festival will be back at The Milton Keynes Bowl on Saturday, July 10, and Early Bat Presale tickets went on sale at 10am this morning, Friday, December 6.

Mystery surrounds the lineup and there is a lot of speculation over who might be playing, especially given the huge names who turned out for Ozzy’s final ‘Back to the Beginning’ show at Villa Park which featured Metallica, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Black Sabbath, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.

Sharon Osbourne herself will play a key role in putting together the bill for Ozzfest which has, over the past 30 years, attracted many of the biggest names in metal, including Slipknot, Metallica, System of a Down, Mötley Crüe, Megadeth, Korn, Sepultura, Prophets of Rage, Pantera and many more, including, of course, Black Sabbath and Ozzy himself.

Early Bat Presale Gold Circle tickets are priced at £179.50 each and are available via Ticketmaster here. The cheapest tickets available in the presale are understood to be priced at £115.

Sharon Osborne said: “Ozzy was the first to launch his own travelling metal festival.

“And Ozzfest will always remain an important part of Ozzy’s legacy.”

As well as the UK show at The National Bowl, in Milton Keynes, Ozzfest will travel to San Bernardino, in California and to Mexico City.

One Ozzy fan on X said: “I got to see Ozzy’s last ever gig in person and will see the first Ozzfest after his passing.”
