When will it end? Confusion over ongoing work at busy Wolverhampton junction
Work due to finish in Wolverhampton on Friday is continuing to cause delays for motorists
There is still confusion over ongoing work along one of the main routes in Wolverhampton which is causing delays.
Work at the junction of Parkfield Road and Birmingham New Road is still going on today (Monday) and it is closed off in one direction.
The closure goes back as far as Bowen Street and traffic diverted along Parkfield Crescent. There is also a lane closure on Birmingham New Road up to Dimmock Street.

Last Monday the Express & Star reported how the area had traffic restrictions with a sign in the area saying it was ‘due to risk of road collapse’ - a council spokesman said the road was due to open again last Friday, May 22.
But footage today shows it is far from open, with delays for Bank Holiday motorists, who face a diversion via Parkfield Road, Manor Road, Spring Road, Dimmock Street and Lawnswood Avenue going back onto Birmingham New Road.
Earlier the City of Wolverhampton Council said the work was for development around the site between Monday May 18 and Friday May 22.
A City of Wolverhampton Council spokesperson said: “ "The temporary one-way closure of both Parkfield Road, and the right-hand turn on Birmingham New Road, opposite Dimmock Street, will remain in place until May 29.
