Richard Deakin and Carl Baker have taken over from Christopher Green at Nant, which has been going for around 30 years, with the aim of continuing to deliver water safety with cutting edge technology and an innovative approach to service.
The business, which is based at Wolverhampton Science Park and employs 60-plus people, was assisted with the consolidation process through its longstanding relationship with its commercial brokers Central Finance, which brought HSBC UK Bank Plc on board to help fund the deal, and Hawkins Hatton Corporate Lawyers (HH) assisted with the legals to ensure a smooth and seamless transaction within a tight deadline of two weeks.
Carl Baker, director at Nant, said: “This consolidation gives us a strong platform for the future. Nant has built its reputation over more than 30 years by combining technical expertise with genuine care for clients, and this next chapter allows us to continue strengthening the business while investing in our people, systems, and service delivery. We are excited about what comes next and remain fully focused on supporting our clients with the high standards they expect from us.”

Richard Deakin, fellow director at Nant, said: “Succession is key to any business, and we now feel that we have the platform for future success and we are pleased to be partnered in this with HSBC - a forward thinking commercial bank.
“We are grateful to Steve George and HSBC, Alison Bradley, Steve Harris and the Central Finance team, as well as Colin Rodrigues and the Hawkins Hatton team, for bringing together the right support around us and helping deliver the transaction smoothly within a demanding timeframe.”
Alison Bradley, of Central Finance, said: “We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Richard and Carl, who have been exceptional throughout this process. Their trust, support and collaboration have meant a great deal to us and made the journey both smooth and genuinely enjoyable. These relationships—with our clients and corporate partners, Colin Rodrigues (HH) and Steve George (HSBC) are at the heart of our business, and we look forward to supporting Nant with the same high level of service and commitment in the years ahead.”
Colin Rodrigues, of Hawkins Hatton, added: “Delivering service is a key to any business and I am always thrilled to help clients continue to look forward to future growth, especially in these challenging times.”
