Wolverhampton roadworks update: Date revealed for when ongoing work at busy Wolverhampton junction ends

The roadworks are expected to end next week.

Roadworks at busy junction in Wolverhampton could be finished by the end of next week.

Wolverhampton Council shared that the roadworks on the junction of Parkfield Road and Birmingham New Road should be finished by next Wednesday (June 3).

In a social media post, the council said that “Preparatory works on a supermarket development site mean the temporary one-way closure of both Parkfield Rd, and the right-hand turn on Birmingham New Rd, opposite Dimmock St, will remain in place until June 3 as a precautionary measure only.”

The junction of the Parkfield Road and Birmingham New Road was closed off in one direction on Monday, May 18 with the closure going back as far as Bowen Street and traffic diverted along Parkfield Crescent.

Over the past couple of weeks, commuters experienced longer journeys due to the disruption.

The works were initially scheduled to be completed by Friday (May 22).

There was also a lane closure on Birmingham New Road up to Dimmock Street, with the closure set around a demolition site at the junction.
