West Midlands Victorian home nestled on banks of River Severn hit the market - but with a catch
193 Hylton Road, located on the banks of the River Severn, is in a state of disrepair.
A Victorian end-of-terrace house with riverside views in the West Midlands hit the market - but with a catch.
The three-bed property in Worcester is nestled on the banks of the River Severn - only a short walk away from the city’s cathedral.
The house in Hylton Road was one of dozens of terrace homes built in the late 1800s and still has many original features including bay windows and decorative fireplaces. The area later became sought after, with people attracted by the riverside views and proximity to the city centre. But in the past few decades 193 Hylton Road has fallen into dilapidation with every room needing repairs as well as the roof which has partially collapsed.

The house, which has been empty for more than a decade, has now been sold for £124,000.
Only a few clues scattered around the interior hint at the end-of-terrace building’s past life. They include patterned wallpaper peeling away upstairs, a picture of a dog howling into the night, a distinctive red lampshade and two fireplaces. Cherry red rugs still lie in the reception.

The house incorporates a first floor with three bedrooms and ground floor with a reception, kitchen and bathroom. Auction House London handled the sale of the house, which boasts a large garden parking for two cars.
