Lanes four in both directions remain closed while emergency barrier repairs take place. National Highways West Midlands posted on X saying: "Due to the complexity of the repair, the lane closures will remain in place throughout the day."

A spokesman from West Midlands Fire Service said: "Shortly after 8.20pm on Monday 23 March, we responded to the M6 motorway northbound near junction six for Gravelly Hill.

"A fire engine from Aston and a fire engine from Erdington attended, arriving to find a lorry had collided with the central reservation and a car.

"No one was trapped by their injuries. Paramedics assessed two casualties for minor injuries.

"Firefighters relocated the two vehicles to make the scene safe. The M6 was closed in both directions while we worked at the scene but lanes began to reopen shortly afterwards.

"We left the scene at 9.13pm."

West Midlands Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service have been approached for comment, as have National Highways West Midlands.
