New police figures have revealed the makes of car most linked to road crime across the West Midlands in 2025.

The data, released by West Midlands Police following the conclusion of their 2025 Operation Snap campaign, highlights all reported road crime across the region last year, broken down into data points including vehicle make and model, the type of offence committed and the where it was committed.

Figures show Ford was the most common car make for road crime reports across the West Midlands, with 1,849 incidents linked to cars from the American motor company.

Volkswagen, Mercedes, BMW and Audi also ranked highly on the list, and combined to make up a large portion of the 18,379 records that were analysed.

1: Ford - 1,849 reports

The make of car linked to the most road crime in the West Midlands last year was Ford, with 1,849 reports.

In terms of models, Transits were the most common Ford vehicle linked to crime with 533 reports. That placed them second across all makes and models throughout 2025.

Fiestas and Focus' were also regular culprits, with 433 and 355 reports respectively. That placed them third and fifth across all makes and models, and when combined with the Transit those three vehicles made up 71 per cent of all incidents linked to Fords.

2: Volkswagen - 1,780 reports

Coming in just 69 reports behind first place is Volkswagen, with 1,780 reports.

The Golf was the most common car linked to vehicle crime in 2025 with 626 linked incidents, almost 100 more than second place.

The Polo rounded out the top 10 with 255, while other models like the Tiguan (163), Passat (104) and Crafter (61) featured in the top 50.
