Lanes open again on southbound M6 near Great Barr after crash and fuel spill - five miles of congestion
Traffic has been held up on the southbound M6 this morning due to a crash and fuel spill.
Three lanes were closed between Junctions 7 (at Great Barr) and 6 (Gravelly Hill/Spaghetti Junction) after the collision this morning, National Highways West Midlands said.
The motorways authority said police and ambulance personnel were on the scene.
A further update at 7.23am said that two of the lanes had been reopened, leaving one lane shut in total.
Then at 7.43am National Highways West Midlands said all lanes had reopened.
A statement on X said: "All lanes are now open on the M6 southbound between J7 (Great Barr, Birmingham) and J6. The earlier collision and fuel spill has now been cleared.
"Delays of just under 30 minutes remain on the approach, five miles of congestion back to J10 (Walsall, Bentley)."
