No trams will run between The Royal and Wolverhampton Train Station this weekend due to essential engineering works on the line.

West Midlands Metro service posted an update on their X account informing followers that the work will begin on Friday, August 29 and run until Sunday, August 31.

There will be temporary changes to the tram timetables due to the essential engineering work taking place at the junction of Pipes Row, Wolverhampton.

The works include upgrades to signalling equipment, as West Midlands Metro prepare to open their Wolverhampton St George’s stop in the coming weeks.

No trams will run between The Royal and Wolverhampton Train Station this weekend

Trams will operate up to every 8 minutes between The Royal and Edgbaston Village only, with no service between The Royal and Wolverhampton Station.

During this time, Metro tickets and passes will be accepted on National Express bus service '79' between Wolverhampton Bus Station (Stand S) and The Royal.
