M6 reopens after crash near Walsall - motorists warned to expect 'residual delays'

The southbound M6 was shut after a crash near Walsall, with motorists warned they could face "residual delays" of more than an hour.

The collision happened at around 3.20pm near Junction 10 of the M6 and the southbound carriageway was closed off by West Midlands Police as a result.

Motorists on the motorway were advised to divert using the entry and exit slip roads at the juncton.

National Highways said at about 4.30pm that the road had been reopened but that motorists would face "residual delays" of an hour.

A spokesperson said: "The M6 is now open southbound within Junction 10 following an earlier collision. There are residual delays of at least 60 minutes in the area, however this should now start to ease."

West Midlands Police has been approached for further information.
