Watch: Take a look inside the historic Sedgley Beacon ahead of national heritage event
New photos show the restoration work which has been ongoing at the historic beacon.
New photos allow people to take a look inside an historic monument sitting atop the Black Country as it prepares to open to the public for the first time in four decades.
Teams from Dudley Council have been working to get Sedgley Beacon ready for two days of being open to the public for the Heritage Open Days.
The country’s largest festival of history and culture celebrates the venues, monuments, halls and settings, with events and open days taking place for people to see them for themselves.
The Grade II-listed Beacon will be open for sessions taking place on Friday, September 11 and Sunday, September 13, with sessions from 10am to 1.30pm on Friday and from 10am to 2pm on Sunday.

It had been closed for more than 40 years due to its poor condition, but saw a recent spate of repairs undertaken, including the reinstatement of 17 missing stone steps.

Work to restore and enhance the beacon saw two phases of work, with £160,000 worth of funding helping to improve the area around the Beacon and also refurbish and future-proof the tower, which was erected in 1846 on top of Beacon Hill.
The new photos and video show the inside of the Beacon and what people can expect from a visit to the Beacon and, while visitors will not be able to go up the steps, it will be a unique opportunity to see inside it:
