The visit will take in three Shropshire locations.

A royal visit to Shropshire has been confirmed for later this month.

Sophie, The Duchess of Edinburgh, will be welcomed to the county by the Lord Lieutenant, Anna Turner.

The visit will take place on April 30.

Speaking ahead of the visit the Lord-Lieutenant said: “I am delighted to be welcoming the Duchess back to Shropshire. This will be a remarkably busy day but a wonderful opportunity for Her Royal Highness to see some of the fabulous work being done in Shropshire with amazing support of local communities and volunteers.”

The occasion will include a visit to The Albrighton Trust where the Duchess will meet with anglers who visit the trust, visit the sensory garden and the woodcraft project.

She will also meet with trustees and volunteers and unveil a plaque.

The second engagement will come at Crowsmill Craft Centre CIC in Bridgnorth.

During the visit the Duchess will see the craft room, the workshops, the forge, the Mousehouse and the garden area where a plaque will be unveiled.

The Duchess is also set to visit the respected rehabilitation centre, Willowdene, where she will tour the facility’s craft and wellbeing centre, the carpentry centre, the classroom, the farm facilities, and the residential area before unveiling a plaque.
