A home energy repairs company in Walsall has raised more than £2,000 for charity thanks to the romantic gestures of its staff.

Inspired by Valentine's Day, HomeServe encouraged its staff to buy heart-shaped balloons with the money going to care and support charity Marie Curie.

The balloons were then sent secretly to people around the business.

HomeServe's chief marketing officer Greg Reed said: "Love is certainly in the air in our offices at the moment.

"Saying thank you to each other is part of our every day culture, but the balloons offered our people a really fun way to show some love and thank each other personally.

"Our people really got behind this with balloons literally filling our offices.

"Most importantly, it's been a fantastic way to donate to an incredible charity which has been close to our own hearts for many years."

Staff at HomeServe's offices in Preston, London, Banbury and Nottingham also got involved in the fundraiser.

Marie Curie is a charity which provides care and support to people with living with terminal illnesses, as well as working closely with their families.
