Walsall MP intervenes in planning application for ‘out of character’ home extension as 'HMO concerns raised'
The Aldridge-Brownhills MP has spoken out against plans for a home extension in Streetly.
Plans for number 1 Inglewood Grove have been described by Wendy Morton as ‘out of character’ and ‘inaccurate’.
Applicant Waqaar Ajmal hopes to build a two-storey side extension, first floor side extension and convert the garage into a living room.
Alongside Ms Morton 131 local residents submitted objections during the public consultation.
Walsall Council’s planning officers have recommended that the plans be approved.

But the final decision will be made by the authority’s planning committee on Thursday night after it was called in by Streetly ward member, Councillor Keir Pedley.
Councillor Pedley has objected to the plans on the grounds of appearance, inadequate parking, and ambiguity around the intended use of the building.
Concerns were raised that property could be used as a House of Multiple Occupation (HMO).
The council said if the owner wanted to convert the property into such a facility, it would require another full planning application.
The planning committee meeting is scheduled to take place at 5.30pm, Thursday, January 15, at Walsall Council House.
