Applicant EMS Design Ltd has proposed to deliver a venue with five padel courts, associated changing rooms and spectator seating.

The company also hopes to create a café offering light refreshments with up to 25 seats for players and visitors.

The existing building at Bloxwich Lane Industrial Estate near Junction 10 of the M6 was last used by a logistics company.

The plans state that the car park with 72 spaces will be retained, including disabled and cycle parking near the entrance.

A total of three full time jobs will be created should the plans go ahead, with opening hours of 6am to 12pm, seven days a week.

EMS Design Ltd said: “The proposed conversion will provide a high-quality indoor sports facility for the community.

“It brings an underused building back into active use, supports local employment, and contributes to wellbeing and recreation.”
