Second retrospective bid submitted to covert Walsall garden outbuilding into separate home
A homeowner in Walsall who was refused permission to convert a garden outbuilding into a separate residential property has submitted a new application.
Applicant Mr S Ali remains undeterred in the bid to convert the rear garden building at 255 Birmingham road into a self-contained dwelling.
The type of application, retrospective, is one which is used after the work or change of use has already taken place.
But in the planning documents it says the building is currently being used as an office or playroom.
The plans state access to the separate home is off Brookhouse Road, a quiet cul-de-sac at the rear of Birmingham Road.

The main property has already been converted into five flats after being granted permission in 2019.
Walsall Council refused the first application earlier this year.
The reasons for refusal included the design, layout and character, lack of amenity space, and cycle parking.
In the latest application, it states the existing outbuilding is not incongruous, that the dwelling exceeds the national standards for internal floor space, and there is no reduction in cycle storage.
