The former Leys Hall, just off the St Lawrence Way roundabout, operated as a furniture recycling centre and an adult’s community facility before its closure.

It fell into dereliction for a number of years following the collapse of the roof, and was later demolished in May 2022.

Now, applicants Dayne Chadbund and Pawan Sudera have put forward plans to build a three-storey apartment block.

Each apartment will be one-bedroom, and parking will be made available at the front and rear of the building, some with EV charge points, as well as a bin and bicycle store.

Agent Pace Studio said: “Overall, this development proposal not only addresses the current need for high quality housing in the area but also seeks to improve the overall quality of the built environment.

“The proposal is well-aligned with local planning policies and represents a positive addition to the Darlaston community.”
