Idrees Baig has applied for a certificate of lawful development which will allow him to turn the former Martin & Co offices in Wolverhampton into a six-bedroom HMO.

The application covers the upper ground and first floors of the building, which was in use as offices until December last year.

Mr Baig said the plan would involve an internal reconfiguration of the building, and that he intended to let rooms to six unrelated people.

The plans will now go before the council’s planning department, which will rule on whether to grant Mr Baig a certificate which will allow him to use the building for that purpose, without the need for formal planning permission..
