Newport businesses join forces for spooktacular half-term ghost hunt
The free event is running until November 1
A family-friendly ghost hunt is returning to Newport this October half-term, inviting residents and visitors to explore the town centre in search of hidden ceramic ghosts.
Organised by Evers So Creative pottery painting studio, the free activity will run until November 1, with little ceramic ghosts hidden in the windows of businesses across Newport High Street and St Mary’s Street.

The initiative aims to encourage people to explore the town, discover local businesses and enjoy a fun activity together during the school holidays.
To take part, hunters simply need to visit Evers So Creative during its opening hours to collect a specially created town map and a clue sheet to help them track down the ceramic characters.

There are prizes up for grabs for participants who successfully find 12 or more ghosts. An additional bonus prize is also available for those who can identify the shop displaying multiple ghosts in its window and correctly count how many are there.
Studio owner Charlie Evers-Swindell said the event was returning following a positive response from families who took part last year.
“We did this last year, and people loved it and asked if we would do it again this year, she said.

“We have added more ghosts and more shops to hopefully make it even more fun! We already have ideas for next year to make it more interesting.
”It’s just a fun, family-friendly activity for locals to do and hopefully we will create a new tradition for the town which people can look forward to year on year.”
