It’s fortunate when the person you want to marry shares the same passion as you, but it’s not always that the bride and groom choose to celebrate it in such a way.

This pair of racing drivers tied the knot with a motorsport themed wedding, and followed it up with a special photo shoot – and the destruction of the bride’s wedding dress – at Donington Park.

Anna Barden first met Steve at Donington, during her first ever race with the Classic Touring Car Racing Club (CTCRC), who run a selection of championships for saloon cars of various eras. She said: ‘We wanted to have our wedding at Donington but that wasn’t possible, so we settled for a photoshoot and a track day after our honeymoon.’

‘A lot of people were shocked by what we did to the dress and asked why. It was either put it in a box in the loft, sell it or trash it doing the things we both love! Putting our personality into it!’

She added: ‘It’s currently hanging up in the barn above the race cars!’

Steve has been a racer since he was eight years old, and has taken championship victories within the CTCRC, and while Anna only began racing in 2016, she has long been a fan of cars and motorsport.

‘Racing side by side as husband and wife for the first time at Silverstone last month was such a wonderful experience – here’s to many more race weekends!’
