Ms Oatley, who is presenting for ITV for the channel's Euro 2016 coverage, received a message on Monday night from James Taylor.

The message said: "Shouldn't you be at home cooking tea rather than presenting the football..."

Oatley replied: "Sorry - bit busy doing my dream job tonight but I'll make you a custard pie when I get home, pet x."

Oatley's reply was 'liked' by 1,499 users and retweeted 851 times.

The user's account now appears to have been shut down, with fans saying she appeared to have 'won Twitter'.

Codsall-born broadcaster Oatley became the first female commentator to appear on Match of the Day.

She attended St Dominic's School in Brewood and Wolverhampton Grammar School.
