Who Wants to Be a Millionaire legend Chris Tarrant joins guests at golf club charity lunch in aid of Cancer Research UK
Legendary former broadcaster Chris Tarrant entertained guests at a golf club charity lunch.
The former Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Tiswas star recounted stories and anecdotes from his years in television as he laughed and joked with more than 140 guests at a sold-out lunch at the Wharton Park Golf and Country Club in Bewdley on Thursday (September 18).
The event was hosted by the Wyre Forest Committee of Cancer Research UK, and helped raise more than £5,000 for the cause.
Tiswas creator and retired broadcaster Peter Tomlinson, who is the honorary president of the committee, said: "We were delighted to welcome Chris as guest speaker of our annual lunch and the room was filled with laughter as he recounted stories and anecdotes from his long career.

"We are a small committee of just seven people and are very grateful for the generosity of our supporters, many of whom have attended our events regularly for many years."
He also added a special thanks to committee chair Anita Rose, who worked 'incredibly hard' to organise the lunch.

Tickets were sold for £50 per person, with the overall donations boosted with a raffle and a 'Tarrant Quiz' which tested the guests' knowledge of Tiswas.

Gulf Oil employees Niall Taylor and Nicola McKeown also presented a cheque to the committee for £1,200 from the company's Oomph Loyalty Scheme, in memory of a respected colleague.
