Wolves attacker being lined up for January loan move

Wolves attacker Fer Lopez is being lined up for a loan move in January, the Express & Star understands.

The 21-year-old has struggled to hold down a place in the team so far this season following his £19.5million move from Celta Vigo, making just seven appearances in all competitions and one Premier League start.

He was an unused sub in Rob Edwards' first game in charge as head coach and has missed the last two matches with a minor adductor injury.

Now, it is understood he is being lined up for a loan move away for more game time.

A return to former club Celta Vigo has been discussed and Wolves are assessing all of their options to ensure the player has regular minutes for the rest of the season.

Lopez is expected to depart Wolves once the transfer window opens and a deal is struck.

In the meantime, Lopez is nearing a return from his injury and has returned to training, meaning he could be involved for Wolves before the window opens.

Hugo Bueno and Ladislav Krejci are also working on their recovery from minor back and knee injuries respectively.

"Fer just trained, so he seems in a good place," Edwards said.

"Hugo did some work this morning and was quite positive as well, so we're hoping he trains on Saturday.

"He'll get two days going into the game, which is good.

"Krejci we're hoping he trains on Saturday as well.

"He was outside doing work individually. Didn't train with the team, but hopefully he trains on Saturday."

Marshall Munetsi limped off against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night with a calf injury that he has now had a scan on.

It puts his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations with Zimbabwe in doubt.

"It's his calf, he's had a scan today," Edwards said.

"I think he's pulled his calf. He's had the scan today, so we don't know the full details of it yet, we'll hopefully get that in the next few hours."
