Under the Housing Act 1985 and the Acquisition of Land Act 1981 the council has submitted a request to forcibly buy 5 Church Hill Road, Tettenhall, which it wants to bulldoze to make way for more more homes.

In a public notice the council declared: "If confirmed, the order will authorise Wolverhampton Council to purchase compulsorily the land described below for the purpose of the provision of housing accommodation."

The city's local plan outlines a target of 9,330 new homes between 2024 and 2042, demonstrating a long-term commitment to housing development.
