Wolverhampton residents outrage at plans for 160,000 sq ft HGV depot on former Lloyds Bank site
Residents say plans to turn a former Wolverhampton banking headquarters into a logistics park would shatter the peace and quiet of their neighbourhood, and prevent a 'lethal' risk to public safety.
The Richardson group is drawing up plans to redevelop the former Lloyds Banking Group site in Pendeford - previously the headquarters of Birmingham Midshires building society - as a 160,000 sq ft transport depot.

The Oldbury-based company has purchased the 10-acre site off Wobaston Road after it was declared surplus to requirements by the banking group.
The scheme, in partnership with developer Erdgard, would see the construction of three large warehouse buildings, catering for 200-300 van and lorry movements per day.
If approved, the 24-hour centre would provide storage for up to 20,000 pallets, and loading bays for 15-20 heavy goods vehicles.
But the proposals have sparked opposition from residents living in surrounding roads.
Jill Buzzard, whose home in Welney Gardens backs onto the site, said the roads would be unable to cope with the traffic the development would generate, creating a 'lethal conflict' between heavy goods vehicles and residential traffic.
