Three suspects charged after more than 20 shop thefts in Bilston

Police have arrested three men as part of an ongoing investigation into more than 20 shop thefts in Bilston.

Paul King, aged 50, was arrested on Wednesday (January 28) after reports of goods being stolen from a town centre shop earlier this month. He has since been charged with four theft offences at Bilston stores since November 2025.

A second man, named James Horton, was also arrested on Wednesday in connection with a shop theft on 18 January. The 38-year-old has now been charged with 16 theft offences committed in December 2025 and January 2026.

Both men appeared in custody overnight and were due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (January 29).

In a separate incident on Tuesday morning (27 January), officers arrested a 43-year-old man, named Scott Stretton, on Bilston High Street after a shop reported the theft of laundry items. 

Stretton has been charged with theft and released on police bail. He is due to appear at Dudley Magistrates Court on 24 February.
