Fire service spotted tackling house blaze in Wolverhampton
Firefighters have been spotted tackling a blaze at a property in Wolverhampton.
Eye-witnesses claim to have spotted crew at the scene of a property fire on Wolverhampton Road East, Bilston.
West Midlands Fire Service say the blaze occurred between 4.30am and 5.30am this morning (January 13).
A spokesperson said: "Shortly after 4.15am on Tuesday (13 January), we responded to Wolverhampton Road East, Wolverhampton.
"Two fire engines and a 4x4 brigade response vehicle from Bilston and Wolverhampton stations responded, the first arriving within five minutes of being mobilised. This was an accidental fire in a first-floor bedroom in a three-storey semi-detached house.
"The fire was contained to the room of origin, but the property was heavily smoke-logged. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two jets to extinguish the fire. Four casualties had left the flat before we arrived, and were assessed by attending paramedics at the scene.
"Crews damped down and left this incident at 5.27am."
