New dawn and new name for Wolverhampton radio station as it gets set to broadcast full time
A radio station working to serve the community has launched a new name and a new brand as it prepares to broadcast on a full-time schedule.
The team behind Ramadan Radio Wolves have worked to rebrand the station as Imaan One as it enters its seventh year of broadcasting.
The launch of the new station yesterday (February 18) also marked a move towards broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week, having previously broadcasted under a limited licence during Ramadan. It means the station has transitioned from a Ramadan-only schedule to a full-time, 24/7 broadcast on DAB across Wolverhampton and Walsall, as well as live streaming on Facebook, YouTube and online.
The station managers at Imaan One said Ramadan would remain a cornerstone of its output, but under the new identity of the station, its faith-inspired, educational, cultural, and community-focused programming will reach listeners well beyond the month of Ramadan.
From today until March 15, Imaan One will deliver an expanded schedule that champions diversity, dialogue, inspiration, reflection and community connection, including shows for youth, wellbeing, business, identity, culture, religion, sports and cuisine.
