There has been a vacancy at both churches since the Rev Preb David Wright left in July 2023, to take up a post in Malta.
Last month it was revealed that St Peter's,.which dates back to 994AD, needed to raise £10 million for essential restoration work.
Mr Dussek is at present priest of the Maelor Mission Area, to the east of Wrexham, a post he has held since February 2023.

Prior to that, he served for eight years at canon at Chester Cathedral, where he was responsible for organising services and worship life. He has also served in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Hampshire, and Birmingham.
He also spent seven years singing with the City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus and enjoys playing the cello and piano.
Mr Wright had served as rector of central Wolverhampton for 14 years when he left to take up the role of Chancellor of St Paul's Pro Cathedral in Valletta, Malta.
His time in Wolverhampton also saw him oversee the churches of St Chad & St Mark and All Saints in the city, and was chaplain to the Wolves football team. He conducted the funerals of club legends Sir Jack Hayward, Ron Flowers, Dave Wagstaffe and Peter Broadbent, as well as a packed memorial service in honour of goalkeeper Bert Williams.
Prior to taking up his role in Wolverhampton, Mr Wright was vicar of St Matthew's Church in Donnington Wood, Telford.
