During the same period, 55 further Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) were issued to individuals caught dropping litter around the town.

Anyone issued with an FPN must pay within 14 days. Failure to do so may result in the case progressing to court if the fine remains unpaid after a reminder.

The enforcement work is supported by 21 new CCTV cameras which have recently been deployed across the borough as part of a major investment to tackle littering, fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour.

In total, 71 cameras are now deployed across Walsall to tackle littering and fly-tipping.

Councillor Adam Hicken, Portfolio Holder for Enforcement and Safe Communities, said: “Littering is unacceptable and it’s right that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.

“We are continuing to strengthen our enforcement work across Walsall, including the deployment of additional CCTV cameras to help identify offenders and protect our communities.

"If you choose to litter, you should expect to face the consequences.“
