So far, more than 130 miles have already been covered in Bloxwich, with 486 people taking part as of 4.30pm.
On their journeys, players can activate their 'beat card' at 'beat boxes' around the area, where they can collect points, compete against other players and win a range of prizes.
Walsall Mayor, Councillor Louise Harrison, said: "It's a great, fantastic initiative about getting people out and about in Bloxwich to see our nature and our green spaces. and potentally find something that you didn't know was there before.
"It really is a fantastic initiative."
