Two buses diverted following Walsall two-car collision

Two bus routes were diverted from their regular routes following a crash between two cars in Walsall

National Express West Midlands warned of disruptions to their regular routes following an 'incident' on Western Street, Walsall.

The bus operator made the announcement at 2.15pm, warning that Services 4 and 4M would instead be diverted in both directions.

The services instead followed Wednesbury Road, Bescot Crescent, Broadway West and West Bromwich Road. 

A National Express West Midlands spokesperson said: "Incident on Weston Street, Walsall.

"Services 4 and 4M are diverting in both directions: Wednesbury Road, Bescot Crescent, Broadway West, West Bromwich Road.

"Apologies for any disruption to your journey."

The services have since returned to their normal routes.

West Midlands Fire Service said that the crash involved two cars on the road, with the fire service dispatching a 4x4 brigade response vehicle from Walsall fire station.

The cars were removed, and the incident was marked as closed at 2.15pm. 

A fire service spokesperson said: "Shortly after 1.50pm on Wednesday (10 December), we responded to Weston Street, Walsall. 

"A 4x4 brigade response vehicle from Walsall fire station attended, arriving within four minutes of being mobilised. 

"This was a collision between two cars on the road. 

"Firefighters isolated the vehicles and made the road safe. Recovery of the vehicles was arranged by West Midlands Police. We left this incident shortly after 2.15pm."

West Midlands Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service have been approached for further information.
