Former teaching assistant Zohura Siddeka is understood to have left the UK for Syria with her husband in December 2014.

The 38-year-old, from Whitton Street in Walsall, is charged with entering into a funding arrangement between December 3 2014 and May 30 2015.

She appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday for a preliminary hearing before Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb.

The senior judge said the case would be heard at Birmingham Crown Court.

Siddeka, who is on bail, faces a plea hearing on January 9 and a provisional trial from November 30 next year.
