Walsall road closes and bus route changes due to carriageway repairs

Passengers travelling on a popular service between Walsall and Birmingham are facing diversions today due to roadworks.

Between 9.30 am and 3.30pm the 937A National Express West Midlands service which runs between Brownhills and Birmingham city centre via Aldridge will be affected due to the closure of  Erdington Road near Aldridge town centre.

 Erdington Road will be closed between Little Aston Road to its junction with Foley Road West to for resurfacing works.

Towards Brownhills the service will follow a route along Aldridge Road, Beacon Hill, Longwood Road, Barr Common Road, Birmingham Road, Walsall Road, Portland Road and Anchor Road  then picking up its normal route and vice versa.

The operator posted on X: "@nxwestmidlands Diversion On 29/04/2025, (09:30 am - 3:30 pm), Erdington Road will be closed between Little Aston Road to its junction with Foley Road West to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works."
