Police seek witnesses after pedestrian hit and killed by car near Blithfield Reservoir in Staffordshire

Staffordshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a man died in a collision near Abbots Bromley.

Emergency services were called to the B5013 Uttoxeter Road at Blithfield Reservoir at 9.30pm yesterday (August 12) following reports of a collision involving a blue Fiat and a pedestrian.  

The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

His family are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the Fiat remained at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We are appealing for any witnesses, particularly those travelling along Blithfield Reservoir between 9.15pm and 9.35pm, to contact us.

"We are also keen to speak to those with dashcam or CCTV footage of the area at the time.
