Cannock groups help Ukrainian families with essential power generators
In January this year Cannock Rotary Club joined with SI Cannock & District to provide funds to purchase four 4 small generators to help those families affected by the devastation caused by a senseless war in Ukraine.
It is widely reported that the Russian forces are targeting power stations which is leaving many families without any form of heating or power.
The clubs made the donation to Gary Fear who does exceptional work supporting the people of war-torn Ukraine. Gary made his first self-funded trip to the Ukraine in 2022 delivering much needed provisions to those families affected by war, Gary has subsequently raised over £100k and has returned to the Ukraine many times to continue his fantastic work helping those families who have seen their homes destroyed by the war.
Last week these generators were handed to families in the most effected parts of the Ukraine which is less than a month since the funds were donated.
The members of both clubs wish to thank the community of Cannock chase for their continued support which in turn is now helping people in the Ukraine survive these very challenging and difficult times.
