Large cordon in place around West Bromwich street as emergency services respond to 'incident'

Buses have been diverted away from a road in West Bromwich while emergency services respond to an incident.

Police and ambulance vehicles were spotted at the scene of an 'incident' on Clarkes Lane, West Bromwich at around 5.30pm on Tuesday evening.

Photos taken at the scene by Express & Star reporter James Vukmirovic shows a large cordon in place in the area.

Buses were diverted away from the scene.

National Express West Midlands have said its 47 bus service was affected.

A post on X said: "Incident ongoing on Clarkes Lane West Bromwich.

"Service 47 is diverting in both directions via: Heath Lane, Marsh Lane, Westminster Road and Hall Green Road.

Emergency services have been contacted for comment.
