Led Zeppelin guitar signed by West Brom-born legend Robert Plant to be auctioned off in aid of Wolves Foundation

A signed guitar from former Led Zeppelin guitarist Robert Plant's personal collection has gone up for a charity auction.

Ethical charity auction platform, 'A Nobel Gift', has announced the listing of a signature hollow body Gretsch guitar, signed by Led Zeppelin frontman, and West Bromwich-born, Robert Plant. 

The hollow body is said to be from Mr Plant's personal collection and was signed by the legendary guitarist, ahead of the currently ongoing auction.

Funds raised from the auction will be donated to The Wolverhampton Wanderers Foundation, with 100 per cent of the raised amount going to the group.

The auction was called 'deeply personal' by Mr Plant's team, with the group saying that he has 'long been a passionate Wolves supporter', where he also serves as the club's Vice-President, and is a patron of the foundation.

A spokesperson for Mr Plant said: "For Plant, this is deeply personal as he has long been a passionate Wolves supporter, serving as club vice-president, and a patron of the foundation.

"His connection to Wolverhampton runs far beyond football - it's about community, heritage, and giving back to the city that shaped him."

Robert Plant, who was born in West Bromwich, features as the frontman of the legendary rock band, Led Zeppelin, from 1968 until the band's break-up in 1980, with the band often being referred to as one of the pioneers of heavy metal music.

As of 12pm on Monday, one bid of £1,000 has been made for the guitar, with the auction expected to end in one month and 31 days. 

The auction site listing read: "A stunning, hand-signed Hollow Body Gretsch guitar, donated from Robert Plant CBE's personal collection.
