10 new houses planned for 'neglected' land opposite West Bromwich park
A new plan could see 10 homes built on an empty plot of land opposite a park in West Bromwich.
Four five-bed homes, four two-bed homes and two bungalows would be built on the corner of Clayplit Lane and Coppice Street in West Bromwich, according to the planning application submitted by Interclass Construction Services.
The planning application submitted to Sandwell Council said the 10 new homes would be the ‘final piece of the jigsaw’ in housing plans for the land opposite Greets Green Park. The homes would be owned by Sandwell Council for rent, the application added.

The land was last used as a site office for the 200-home development built around Coppice Street in the early 2010s. The site had been left empty after a row of terraced houses were demolished around a decade earlier.
A statement included with the application said: “It is proposed to erect 10 new dwellings on land to the south of Coppice Street in West Bromwich, with the proposals comprising four five-bedroom houses, four two-bedroom houses and two two-bedroom bungalows, with associated works to the site access, parking and landscaped areas.
“The development will be delivered on a site that has historically accommodated housing, but which has since been cleared to leave a vacant, under-used and neglected site.
“Indeed, the proposals will deliver high quality accommodation within a high quality setting that will complement and enhance the character of the surrounding area.
“In contrast, there are no adverse effects arising from the proposals.”
