'Let's hear your views on plans to build 100 homes on derelict factory site in Smethwick'
Residents are being urged to have their say over a council's plans to build 100 new homes on former factory land near the Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick.
Sandwell Council wants to build 74 new flats, and 26 houses at the old GKN factory site, in Cranford Street, Smethwick, and has used compulsory purchase powers to buy it.
The public notice states: "This is a major application."
"Former GKN buildings - proposed 26 residential dwellings, five apartment blocks consisting of 74 self-contained apartments, one commercial unit, parking, landscaping and associated works.
"Applications are available to view via the council’s public access website sandwell.gov.uk."
Anyone who wishes to make representations about these applications can do so via the website, or via email to planning@sandwell.gov.uk within 23 days of the date of this advertisement quoting the application reference number DC/26/71442.
